I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
